Why Sable

The person who signs the permit is on site

An inspector documenting an electrical panel

A master electrician on every job

Not a licence hanging on an office wall while apprentices work unsupervised. The person who signs the permit is on site.

Photographing and noting the condition of home systems

We pull the permit

Every time, including the small jobs. Unpermitted work is the thing that kills a sale two years later, and it is not your problem to discover.

Documenting work on a tablet before closing up

We photograph what we close up

Before the drywall goes back, you get pictures of what is behind it. The next electrician will thank us, and so will your inspector.

How we work

Older houses, modern loads

Most of Denver's housing stock was wired for a household with a fraction of today's electrical demand. Almost every job we do is that gap.

Which is why we start at the panel and do the arithmetic before quoting anything.

Found unpermitted work from the previous owner, documented it, and corrected it before our closing. Saved the sale.

Quoted a panel upgrade and an EV charger, did both in a day, and the number on the invoice was the number on the quote.

They sent photos of every junction before they closed the walls. I have never had a trade do that.

How to tell whether your panel actually needs upgrading

What an EV charger really needs in an older Denver house

The charger is the cheap part. What it plugs into is where the money and the surprises are.

Questions we get every week

Do I need a permit for a small job?

More often than people think, and Denver is strict about it. We pull one for anything that touches the panel, adds a circuit or changes fixed wiring. It costs little and it is what keeps the work on your side of a future dispute.

My house still has knob-and-tube. Is that urgent?

Not necessarily dangerous on its own, but most insurers will not cover it and no modern appliance load belongs on it. We usually replace it in stages so you are not paying for a whole-home rewire at once.

Can you install an EV charger on my existing panel?

Sometimes. It depends on the service size and what else is on it. We do a load calculation first — a charger on an already-full 100-amp panel is how people end up with nuisance trips and a fire risk.

How long does a panel upgrade take?

Usually one day on site, plus the utility disconnect and the inspection. We book all three so you are without power once, not three times.

Do you work on commercial jobs?

Small commercial and multi-family, yes. Anything above about 400 amps we will point you at someone who does it daily. We would rather refer than learn on your building.

No power, or a panel you do not trust?
